Contested divorces are inherently more complex than joint or uncontested divorces. While joint divorces involve drafting and submitting all documents at once, and uncontested divorces follow a more straightforward process of serving and filing documents, contested divorces often require multiple steps and additional applications.
In a contested divorce, after submitting the Statement of Claim (SOC), you may need to make further applications for issues such as parenting arrangements or child support. These additional steps are often necessary to prompt further action, as some parties may not participate in mediation or other processes without a court order.
It's important to note that while I can assist with document preparation and filing, I cannot force the other party to comply or participate. However, my services are designed to be more affordable than traditional law firms, which often require substantial retainers and charge significantly higher hourly rates.
Losing a loved one is tough. I can help ease the burden by assisting with drafting Applications for Probate or Grant of Administration and navigating the court system.
